So, now Pelosia is using the old Clinton dodge of “what is the meaning of ‘is’ ?”.  Remember when he hung his defense upon “the meaning of ‘is’?” .   His obfuscation of his testimony was only the beginning for Democrats.  Now, Pelosi is reaching out to redefine bi-partisanship for her own, political advancement….and, that of President Obama.

So, with the “new” definition of bi-partisanship,  Democrats claim they do not need Republican votes to make the reconciliation be bi-partisan.  After all, Pelosi claims that conservatives had their chance……….to talk!  Of course, Democrats didn’t accept anything that the conservatives were talking about, but, hey, they had “their chance”.  Thus, the bill becomes bi-partisan without the need for anything except Democrats’ votes.

Pelosi: GOP has had its day; confident Dems can come together

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Sunday that Republicans have left their mark on the healthcare bill and should accept that the bill will go forward.

“They’ve had plenty of opportunity to make their voices heard,” she said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday morning. “Bipartisanship is a two-way street. A bill can be bipartisan without bipartisan votes. Republicans have left their imprint.”

Pelosi is probably the most arrogant member of Congress.  She calls tea-baggers, Americans who happen to disagree with her, “astroturf”.  She tells her fellow Democrats that they should put their re-election aside and vote for this bill.  (What would happen if HER job were at stake?)  And, now, she is busy creating new definitions for words that don’t suit her!

This is why Congress’ approval is down to about 10%!  This is why American citizens, not only tea-baggers, are angry and demanding to be heard. This is Congress at its worst –the epitome of arrogance.

After a day-long summit to discuss compromises to the health legislation that Democrats and President Obama are pushing, several conclusions can be reached.

President Obama obviously did NOT want to compromise with any Republican ideas.  Rather, he thought that his magnificent presence on tv would sway Congress and voters to his side of the debate.

Republicans presented valid ideas including:  inter-state insurance; tort reform; grouping of small businesses to buy insurance.  These would lower the health care costs for businesses and individuals and provide health care to more Americans.  None of the Democrats nor Obama seriously accepted these proposals.  At the end of the day, Obama clearly was upset that Republicans did not jump onto his bandwagon, even though he said he would “contemplate” their ideas.  He must think we are all idiots.  That we don’t realize that  he and the Democrats  intend to try to ram this legislation through with reconciliation — a process they previously repudiated.

President Obama showed his own arrogance by talking, and talking, and talking.  Well, according to him, he’s the President, so he gets more time!  Really?  Wasn’t he there to listen to everyone’s ideas?

Republicans explicitly demonstrated that the health legislation being proposed would not only cost us more money, would NOT cover more people, and would only be in effect for 6 of the 10 years that taxes were collected for it.   In essence, the legislation does NOT do what Democrats claim it will do, Americans absolutely do NOT WANT it, and it might actually ruin the financial integrity of our country.  It was a waste of everyone’s time.

The summit was exactly what people suspected it would be– grandstanding by President Obama and the Democrats.  They had no intention of listening to the other sides’ ideas and all they wanted was a photo op so they could claim they were trying for bi-partisanship.  Unfortunately, for them, Americans saw through this fiction and yet another poll proves that Americans do NOT trust Obama nor the Congress.

Washington (CNN) – A majority of Americans think the federal government poses a threat to rights of Americans, according to a new national poll.

Watching this debacle on tv was even more boring than watching reruns….wait.  This actually WAS a rerun of the Democrats’ and Obama’s talking points.

If they truly want to “do what the American public wants”, then they had better start listening.  As of yesterday, they and Obama were just doing what they always do — talk.   The saddest outcome of this health summit is that Democrats hardened their “we’re right” attitude and forgot that they were elected to represent us — our views and wishes — not pass legislation that helps them get re-elected!

So, the real outcome of yesterday’s “summit” was that  President Obama, he of the “change, transparency, bi-partisanship” campaign, became just another talking head.

Although tea is considered a healthy, beneficial beverage, tea baggers-Americans who are frightened by the arrogance of Congress and are only trying to be heard,  are considered poisonous fear-mongerers by Democrats.

Democrats, of course, have the right to their opinion, but I wonder if insulting every-day Americans who just want Congress to listen to THEM is helpful to anyone.  Americans, by a significant majority, have rejected the plan for a governmental take over of health care that Democrats, under the leadership of President Obama, are still pushing.  Of course, if the government runs health care, then Congress and the President gain even more power to reward their “own”  with taxpayer dollars, so they’re pushing hard.  They piously claim to be doing what’s best for the American public.  But, are they?

If this is such a good plan, why are Americans against it?  If this is such a good plan,  why is no one in Congress or the President himself clamoring to be included in the newly “insured” group?  If this is such a good plan, why has it not been presented to the American public for THEIR opinion?

The proposed health care legislation would be another governmental fiasco.  NO ONE with any influence wants to be part of the plan!   In actuality,  everyone who could exempted themselves as fast as they could from this “wonderful”  plan.  Unions made a special trip to the White House to get their exemption.  Senators Mary Landrieu and Ben Nelson cried about the hardship to their states and received exemptions. And, with every exemption, the burden for paying for this hideous monster rested on fewer and fewer people.  This was NOT a good plan nor was it carefully thought out.  It was a political ploy to make the president and congress APPEAR to be concerned with Americans’ welfare.

Unfortunately, the health care legislation has been little more than congressional scavengers carving out benefits for themselves or their constituency.  This is not Democracy in action.

Demonizing tea baggers in favor of President Obama’s and the Democrats’ version of “what’s best for us” is NOT Democracy in action.

Tea-baggers, who are exercising their freedom of speech, and attempting to get Congress to act in the best interests of the American taxpayer ARE Democracy in action.

So, if Congress is smart, and BEFORE they propose legislation, they should study the issues and actually ASK the American taxpayers what is best for America.

Otherwise, Congress will find themselves in hot water.  And, then, they WON’T be able to read the tea leaves!

So, Senator Reid was finally able to buy that last vote needed to pass this horrendous health care bill.

What a farce this entire situation was!!  After Mary Landrieu of the $300 million fame publicly admitted she sold her vote, the rest of the Senate lined up to get ‘THEIR” FAIR SHARE.  Unfortunately, all these shares will come out of  OUR taxpayer dollars.

At Christmastime, we expect to see 3 Wise Men, not 60 money-grabbing, greedy, arrogant, unresponsive, evasive, double-dealing criminals determining our future.  But, there you have it.  It took some time before Senator Reid could find enough ways to buy off members of his own party, like  Nelson and Lieberman, but they finally all sold their souls to the Devil.  Let’s hope the Devil comes to get them soon.  In the meantime, if you want to see the 60 biggest hypocrites in the world….go to  Washington, D.C, and visit the Senate!!!

I’m asking how much a Senator or Representative’s vote is worth.   Ms Landrieu got $300,000,000 for her vote for health care.  And, I’m sure she’s not the only one.

The posturing and pseudo consideration of the health bill is ludicrous.  Grown men and women pretend to be studying the value of the bill–when we know they’re positioning themselves for the big buyout — even as the American public is saying “NO” in poll after poll.  We do NOT want a government run health insurance.  We do NOT want the government intruding into our private medical history.  We DON’T WANT Congress to insist upon health care “reform” when we know it is a political steal of our rights and privacy.

We DO WANT reform of the regulations that prohibit insurance companies from competing across state lines.

We DO WANT tort reform so doctors and hospitals can operate without fear of reprisals for problems that are truly beyond their control.

We DO WANT Congress to begin listening to us and STOP trying to control us.  Congress is supposed to REPRESENT us, not CONTROL us.

So, how much is an individual legislator’s vote worth? Only time will tell.

As the health care debate begins, it is past time to be honest about what the bill really contains.

Besides exempting Congress, the President and probably a myriad of their supporters, both the Senate and House versions are bureaucratic nightmares.  Layer upon layer of bureaucrats will find employment if this bill is enacted.  The irony is that the American public does NOT support the bills…. so why are Democrats pushing it so hard?  Well, they consider it their political legacy.  Unfortunately, it will be OUR FINANCIAL RUIN.

And, even if it were efficient,which it is not ….. or cost effective,which  it is not, many of us do not support abortion and don’t want the government actively engaged in killing babies.

Nor do we want our health care decided by someone who doesn’t know us and, like the HHS secretary Kathleen Sibelius, is not even a doctor!  No, she is a lawyer and she will be the ultimate judge of what health care we are to receive!  Here is the proof of that bitter truth:

So, it’s time to be honest.  Congress is a cancer that threatens to spread its idiocy throughout every sector of our society.  It’s time to send them home before they devastate our entire country.

President Obama and his Democrat minions would have you believe that health care is not going to cost Americans money, but that it will actually SAVE money! When has buying MORE of something ever cost LESS?  That is ridiculous. In reality, rather than the “new” and “improved” vision for America that Obama promised, he wants to foist yet another federal program upon us.   He wants to make the “rich” pay more and the “poor” pay less.

Although making the rich pay more is a popular, Populist concept, income redistribution has never worked and it won’t work for health care either. By taking more from the wealthier Americans, it means they have less to spend.  With less to spend, they cut back on purchases that create jobs for others.   This is what happened years ago when a luxury tax was put on yachts.  Carver’s boat company in Pulaski, Wisconsin, discovered that the higher price for their boats led to less demand.  The people with boats simply kept them another year, rather than pay the higher price.  As a result, Carver had to lay off many employees.  How did that help the economy?

The newspaper today had an article that showed that my husband and I will likely be paying $25,000 more for health care this year because we earn “too much”.   Those taxes will be on top of higher business expenses which were precipitated by the huge bailouts and other forms of governmental largesse, such as ear marks.  There will be NO raises in our business this year for anyone.  And, I bet our employees will buy less which will hurt local businesses.

Charities, too, will notice a drop off in donations because those who traditionally support charities will have less disposable income and thus will be donating less.

But, worst of all is that only “some Americans” will have to pay for this fiasco.  Congress, our President who extolls the virtues of universal health care, unions, teachers, and other “friends” of Democrats will be exempt from this new program!!!!  This proposed health care program is not only filled with potential problems, it is yet another governmental program that promises more than it can possibly give and that makes one group pay yet again for someone else!

Democracy in America is dead……….or, dying little by little.  Maybe that is fitting for Halloween 2009.

The Democrats’ committe voted FOR the Baucus health care bill, despite not a single Republican supporting it.

Well, that’s to be expected.

However, now the process moves behind closed doors and I want to know why?  This is not a matter of personnel which does warrant confidential discussions.  This is about the American taxpayers’ right to know what, how, when, and why a legislative committee — supposedly elected to REPRESENT US, NOT COERCE US — is deciding on a major, reformative bill.

The public has shown its antipathy for this type of reform many times.  The latest study shows that, if you have a good health care plan, expect to pay at least another $4,000 per year for it!

So, why, oh why, are the Democrats still trying to force this into law?  It is because they know that, once passed, it is almost impossible to repeal.  And, they are so arrogant that they believe they know better than we do about every issue.  Plus, a lot of their buddies are going to make money on this scheme.  We know that the government will be hiring many more employees to manage this travesty of a law.

This all began with President Obama’s talk of health care problems.  Surveys show that about 70-80% of Americans are satisfied with their present health care system.  But, as a control freak, Obama is determined to turn health care into a governmental program that he can  control.

From czars to Congress, Obama’s goal is to have a dictatorship wherein he chooses all options for everyone.  This is not really about health care.  It is using health scare tactics to destroy our dem0cracy.

I think that many Americans feel as Joe Wilson did about President Obama’s speech last night — “that’s a lie!”–  rather than the spin some networks are handing out as their “reading” of the president’s speech last night.

CNN, especially,  has once again shown itself to be a partisan network, heavily biased in FAVOR of President Obama.  It doesn’t seem to matter how ridiculous Obama’s statements are, CNN routinely “finds” people who agree with them.  In this case, CNN did a poll of reactions to the President’s pathetic attempt to justify his health care reform package.  Characteristically, they included nearly twice the Democrats compared to Republicans in the poll.

Let’s face it.  CNN wouldn’t know the truth if it hit them in the face.

The truth is that there is no need for health care reform.  What is needed is to reform Medicare so that doctors get paid what their services are worth!  What is needed is tort reform so doctors don’t pay upwards of $200,000 PER YEAR in malpractice fees,  trying to offset the ridiculous cases that are pressed against them. What is needed is for the Democrats to stop playing politics.

Health care reform, as envisioned by Obama, is nothing more than a hand out to groups that support him.  The unions are the worst of the worst.  But, I heard Obama enlist another group last night — the nurses!  It is always pleasant to be told that you are so vital that we want to raise your salary; however, Obama is using them as yet another divisive ploy in an attempt to “get his way” on health care reform.

This is just another case of class warfare at which Obama is the king.  Unfortunately, he wants to be king of the world, and health care is just his platform.  Time for “the king” to step down from his throne and stop raising the national debt at the cost of our grandchildren.  And, it is time for networks like CNN, NBC, and even ABC, to stop letting Obama get away with such patently untrue statements!

What a surprise!  Another Congressman who is in abeyance of tax laws which the rest of us must follow!  How many of us can hide assets and get away with it?  Well, today’s Congress and administration are full of tax cheats -remember Geithner and Dashle?

The surprise is NOT that Rangle wrangled his finances to save himself money.  And, it is NOT a surprise that the media is letting him get away with it.  The surprise is that the IRS does NOT go after Rangle and impose the same penalties and fines that an ordinary American would face, if we tried those shenanigans.  Rangle is not the first nor the last to profit from being in Congress.  President Obama had his share of profits while a Senator, and he certainly is taking advantage of the benefits of being President!

Unfortunately, like the proposed health care, Congress and the Administration do not feel that they are “ordinary” like the rest of us.   They do not have to follow the same laws.  That is why they do not plan to be part of this “wonderful” health care plan.  Oh, no, Obama said he’s “the President” and doesn’t have to participate.  Senators and Representatives are following his lead and getting preferential treatment in every aspect of health care, pensions, social security, and other things that the average American works hard to pay for.

Isn’t it time for Congress and even the President to have to follow the laws, just like we do?
