Sadly, my old college roommate and I would joke that LIEberals would always pull this BS on ANYTHING. Temperature is hot… Blame Bush, Packers lose the Super Bowl… Blame Bush, a TV ad that’s longer than 3 minutes… Blame Bush. But yeah, now they’re openly saying it. It’s seriously gotten to the point of being so sad and stupid that you can’t write about it with a straight face. They’re totally 8 year old kids trying to bully people. I’m speechless, not because of how unfounded this might be, but because they are so fucking dumb and people believe this. I’m not saying that there are stupid repus… because Akin proved that, but wow, it’s so ridiculous I’m going to go and crawl into bed and laugh… ok, maybe not because it’s so sad and I have to cry for all the NCPs out there.
Rep. Bart Stupak to retire, putting seat in play

Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.), who had a central role in the health reform fight as the leader of anti-abortion Democrats, plans to announce Friday that he will not run for reelection, a Democratic official said. Without Stupak on the ballot, the seat becomes an immediate pickup opportunity for Republicans. President Barack Obama called Stupak on Wednesday and asked him not to retire. Stupak, 58, also resisted entreaties from Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), the dean of the Wolverine State delegation.
YOU CERTAINLY EXEMPLIFY WHAT A POLITICIAN DOES WHEN FACED WITH A CHOICE, MR. STUPAK! FIRST, YOU SELL YOUR VOTE AND ACQUIESCE TO THE SLAUGHTER OF MILLIONS OF INNOCENTS. THEN, WHEN YOU WOULD HAVE TO FACE YOUR CONSTITUENTS, YOU QUIT THE FIELD. YOU COULD HAVE BEEN THE STANDARD BEARER FOR DECENCY AND THE PROTECTION OF THE HELPLESS UNBORN. INSTEAD, YOU CHOSE TO VOTE FOR THE BRUTAL MURDER OF FUTURE GENERATIONS. GO HOME. AND, MAY YOUR RETIREMENT BE FILLED WITH REGRETS!!!
The American public did NOT want the health legislation to pass, but Congress rammed it through anyway. It’s no surprise that people are angry, frustrated, and just plain overwrought by representatives who did NOT represent their constituents.
Some, unfortunately, have decided to let their legislators know just how much anger there is by sending harsh emails, voice mails, and even a brick through windows. This violence is NOT limited to Democrats who overwhelmingly voted against the American public. Eric Cantor, Republican of Virginia, also had damage to one of his buildings.
Hatred in politics is nothing new, especially when an entirely new social order is being foisted on unwilling participants. What is new is that the Democrats have decided to try to mitigate the anger against their “aye” votes by drumming up new anger against those who use violence to try to show their anger. If Democrats can change the focus from their forcing national health care on Americans to fearing violence from opponents, then they are halfway to being redeemed in the public’s eye.
However, this is a bogus, and blatantly political response by Democrats. They have used every dirty trick, every cunning ploy, and even dubious legislative methods to force this bill through. And, now, they want to play the victim!
Despite their extolling the new health legislation, none of Congress nor the President are required to participate in the program. They have their own “special” policy. How undemocratic is that?
Despite their assurances that the new health legislation would save money, any thinking American knows that you cannot increase a pool of recipients and save money. No. Democrats plan taxes that you won’t notice until you check your pension plan….like the 3.8% INCREASE in taxes on dividends which is a 25% increase in total taxes on dividends!
Despite Democrats lamenting the violence, they secretly relish it because they can then extrapolate and attribute such actions to anyone who disagrees with them. Witness the allegations that teaparty groups “MUST” be responsible!
Hatred in politics in nothing new. What is new is that the media repeatedly follows the party line of the Democrats all the while denigrating FOX news and the independents and conservatives who are begging for fiscal responsibility. What is new is that Democrats piously downplay their role in fomenting such reactions and use it as a political ploy to try to save members who voted against the public’s wishes. Those votes are the source of a great deal of anguish for those of us who will be paying yet again for someone else’s profligate ways and for some, a source of hatred.
Although they are trying to place the blame on others, through their actions and votes, Democrats and Health care are now synonymous with Hatred and Politics.
I’m blaming Bush for his partisanship policies and his unwillingness to reach across to LIEberals. This is so ridiculous I’m at a loss for words. Imagine the outrage if this was flipped and this was the Republicans in congress trying to pass this w/out a vote.
– Mr. Knowledge
This was forwarded to me recently, and I’d just like to make a point about the comment below.
Karen Middlekauff, a UF law student and the president of Outlaw, an organization for College of Law LGBT students, said she believes that Tebow is still a representative of UF, and he has chosen to represent a viewpoint that shouldn’t be associated with the university.
“Focus on the Family is a very well-known group for speaking out against LGBT issues,” she said. “A lot of people know that.”
If that’s the case, then the organization of Outlaw should be crushed on campus, because I don’t think a University should be involved in that.
Sheesh, the double standard. That’s like saying the College Republicans should be shut down at Madison because they’re a LIEberal University, and the University should not be supporting those viewpoints. Stupid libs.
I’d like to touch on one part of Obama’s State of the Union speech, and this isn’t to rip on him. He talked about the need of more nuclear power plants for the future, but for some reason this has LIEberals up in arms. How could he not say wind, solar or other renewable energy? The simple fact is, using nuclear power would be a benefit over our current situation. It’s cleaner, so isn’t that an improvement? It can produce much more power and decrease our dependency on the oil and coal from overseas, isn’t that better?
I just don’t get LIEberals. You give’m an inch, they want a foot. You give’m a foot, they want a yard. They’re never satisfied with what you are doing, such as when I take paper bags from the grocery, they’d get mad and want me to bring my own bags. Sure, that or I should just carry the food home without any bag, saving more energy in the process.
You have to stand before you walk. When will they realize that sometimes things like nuclear power is a good thing over the alternative. I’m all for the development of solar and wind technology, but why waste money on something that doesn’t have all the flaws worked out? Why not build nuclear now, then with the money we save invest and develop other technologies?
Funny how the LIEberals will try anything to steal an election – http://www.parcbench.com/2010/01/19/exclusive-boston-globe-publishes-election-results/
So what is her motive? If this was a republican blocking this, everyone would be all over them for leaning towards big oil.
When I was young, we were told that muckrakers were journalists who scraped up muck on people and institutions in order to right wrongs. If a politician was dirty, the muckraker would expose his faults. If a business wasn’t following the law, the muckraker would explain exactly what was wrong with their business’ practices. Muckrakers did a lot of good work in correcting what ailed society.
Today’s muckrakers have a new name and, it isn’t much prettier than muckraker. It is computer hacker. Few people use it in a complimentary fashion. But, the good news is that, many times, hackers have exposed a politician’s lies or fraud in government. And isn’t it a good thing for all of us when corruption is laid bare and then corrected?
Well, maybe it is good for us, but risky for the hackers. The latest expose is alleged global warming. Hackers managed to reveal the skulduggery of scientists who promoted the concept of global warming even though they knew their “facts” were unfounded! The scare tactics of these pseudo scientists included omitting data, fudging numbers, and even suppressing contrary voices… actually, much like Congress is doing in their attempt to foist health care measures upon an unwilling American public.
So now, even knowing that the hackers discovered corruption in the global warming theory community, some want to punish them. Whether you agree with what the hackers did or not, there is absolutely no way you can deny what the hackers discovered. And, aren’t we glad that these false prophets of global warming have been shown to be liars? Well, it depends. If you’re on the losing side of the argument, as Barbara Boxer is, you want to punish those who made you look foolish. It’s the old, “Kill the messenger” attitude that has worked top well for the democrats in the past. Hence, she chooses to ignore the importance of the hackers’ revelations in favor of trying to punish them for exposing the untruths of global warming.
It sounds as though we should sic’ the hackers on good old Barbara! Let the muckraking begin.
